Compassion Neurohealth Referral Map
Bret Petkus | Compassion Neurohealth | October 2026
As of 14 Oct 2026
Compassion Neurohealth treats patients directly and does not sell to business buyers, so this map covers the referral groups its own site names instead: the prescribers, therapists and obstetric practices patients already see, and the service community the clinic was built to serve.
Each group below shows who usually decides whether a patient is sent your way, and where a public count exists it is shown in bands.
The referral groups around your patients
Counts are national firm counts, banded on purpose. Your own referral area around Southlake is a slice of each.
| Group | Organizations in the US | Under 20 staff | 20 to 99 | 100 to 499 | 500 or more |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Psychiatry practices | about 13,000 | about 12,000 | about 370 | about 76 | about 140 |
| Therapists, counselors and psychologists in private practice | about 39,000 | about 37,000 | about 1,700 | about 320 | about 140 |
| Outpatient mental health centers | about 9,500 | about 6,800 | about 1,400 | about 830 | about 400 |
| Physician practices outside psychiatry, including OB GYN, family medicine and pediatrics | about 130,000 | about 120,000 | about 12,000 | about 2,100 | about 1,000 |
| Veteran, military family and law enforcement organizations | no clean public count |

Why referrals carry this market
Your own FAQ notes that most insurers cover TMS once a patient has tried several antidepressants without success. That means most insured patients reach you after a prescriber has already been treating them, so the prescriber is usually the person who first raises TMS.
Your site already has a referral form for practices and says your team coordinates with a patient's prescribing physician or psychiatrist on medications. The groups on this page are the practices that sit on the other side of that form.
Who usually signs off at each group
| Group | Who usually decides on a referral | What they want to know |
|---|---|---|
| Psychiatry practices | Psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse practitioner, practice medical director | Which patients qualify, how targeting differs from standard TMS, how medication changes are coordinated |
| Therapists, counselors and psychologists | Practice owner or clinical director, licensed counselors | How their patient stays in therapy during treatment and what progress reports come back |
| Outpatient mental health centers | Medical director, clinical director, intake or care coordination lead | Insurance criteria, how fast a referred patient is seen, a single referral contact |
| OB GYN practices | Obstetrician, practice administrator, perinatal care nurse | Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and that a mother can bring her baby to sessions |
| Family medicine and pediatric practices | Physician owner, medical director, practice manager | When to refer after medications have not worked, and support for patients from age fifteen |
| Veteran, military family and law enforcement organizations | Program director, family support coordinator, wellness or peer support lead | Brain injury and trauma experience, a clinician who understands service life, and help for Gold Star families |
Where the decision really sits
In small practices the physician owner decides and the front desk or practice manager carries it out, so both need to know how to send a patient over. In larger groups and centers a medical director usually approves a new referral partner, and an intake or care coordination lead then decides which patients go where day to day.
In service organizations the decision is rarely clinical. A program director or family support coordinator decides what to recommend to members, and peer support leads often carry the word further than any formal partnership.
